The Licensed Certified Professional Midwife Practice Act is official law!
HB 3401, now Public Act 102-0683, was signed on December 13th, 2021 at the Michael J. Bilandic Building in Chicago.
“With the legislation I sign today, the lifesaving and life-giving work midwives perform will be legally recognized here in Illinois. It’s a victory decades in the making and one that recognizes the full worth and value of midwives in reproductive care,” Pritzker said. “Most importantly, it ensures safe home births for every mother who chooses to deliver out-of-hospital – another step forward advancing health equity in communities across our state.”

Bukola Bello has represented clients on a variety of issues; public utilities and energy, healthcare, education, post-employment benefits, education, gaming and fantasy sports, labor, corporate policies, finance and regulatory provisions. Prior to starting her own firm, Bukola held a variety of government and government-related positions, including Pension Analyst to the Illinois General Assembly’s Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability.
Ms. Bello is well versed in historical, statistical, and economic analyses pursuant to legislative requests for legislators in the House and Senate and has co-written and authored seven published retirement reports.
